It is best to log into your account before performing a search. Why? Because we can use your profile information to improve your job search results.
You can also use filters such as location, salary, work schedule or agency to refine your results.
If you find a job that interests you, read the full ad to determine if you are eligible and meet the requirements. It is important to read the advertisement, as there are required qualifications that you must meet and include in your application.
Read the How to Apply section of the job advertisement before starting your application. To start your application, click on Apply and we will guide you through a five-step process where you will attach a curriculum vitae and all the required documents.
During the application process, you can view, modify, delete and update your information. We will automatically save your progress as you go, so you won’t lose any changes.
When your application is ready, you will be sent from USAJOBS to the agency’s application system, then you can submit your application. The time it takes to submit an application depends on the job you are applying for and the agency’s requirements.
You can check the status of your application in your USAJOBS account. When the agency receives your application, the status changes to “Received”, which generally occurs a few hours after the end of your application. You can also receive confirmation by email from the agency request system, but not all agencies send emails.
